s your life today what you pictured a year ago? That’s a loaded question, isn’t it? Any decent human being aspires to be better than they were 365 days ago. But really, what does “better” even mean? Sure, I’d love to have more money, shed some extra pounds, kick the anxiety to the curb, and stop sweating the small stuff. Who wouldn’t want to work less, become a best-selling author, and ride off into the sunset with a happy ending?
But amidst all those lofty dreams, I can still proudly say I’ve had another year with my husband, my kids, and my adorable grandchild. I have a roof over my head, a career that keeps the lights on, wheels to get me where I’m going, and a pantry full of food. Oh, and let’s not forget—God still loves me, even on my worst days. Some days, that’s my ultimate fairy tale.
While I do crave those other dreams, I can’t help but recognize that, in the grand scheme of life, I’ve been quite fortunate compared to those who’ve faced real loss. So, here’s to another year of ups, downs, and all the in-betweens. It may not have been the fairy tale I imagined. I may not be living on Easy Street just yet. I’ve got my ticket to the party, and that’s a story worth celebrating!
